Five Ways to Elevate Your Life with Dried Flowers
Personally, I don’t think there’s a single soul alive, whose spirit isn’t brightened at the sight of a beautiful flower arrangement. Colorful flowers make everyone feel good.
The thing is, fresh flowers are amazing to look at and keep in rotation in your living space, but they don’t last very long. Sometimes when you find a pretty arrangement or a unique color, you want to keep it as long as possible. This is where the handiness of dry flowers comes into play.
I find that keeping dry flowers around my home is useful.
- A very common way to enjoy dried flowers is by creating a potpourri bowl filled with flowers (and even dried fruits). It is very pretty to look at and depending on the petal type can be quite fragrant in your space.
- I love candles and I always have them burning around my home. They are fragrant and I love the dazzling flicker of light as they glow. Sometimes I like to add some tiny or crushed petals to the top melted wax layer of a candle that I have already started to burn. It’s pretty to look at when you walk past the candle.
- If you are a crafty person, you can make wall art using an inexpensive (or expensive if you like) picture frame. Start by deciding which floral color combinations you like, you can also make a bookmark or greeting card using dried flowers.
- Grab a gorgeous vase and use your dried flowers as an accent decoration. Dried flowers can enhance the overall look of an area. You don’t realize how much beauty having a bit of art over in the corner can add to a room.
- Petals in the tub aren’t just for special occasions. Make every bath a night of romance and luxury just by tossing in a handful of dried flowers. Traditionally, we’ve seen images of rose petals, but you can use any flower you like. Its best to store them in a plastic bag in your cabinets away from direct sunlight. That way they will stay dry and last longer.
