Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but around here, every day is a chance to celebrate love!
That’s why I am so excited to share this wonderful milk bath recipe with you. It’s a great way to pamper yourself (or your boo) while reaping all of the skin and relaxation benefits that milk and roses have to offer. It’s super easy to make and your skin will feel so soft afterwards.
You can bathe in it during your weekly pampering ritual or use it as an exfoliating hand soak, foot soak. The world is your oyster.
I can remember my dad’s mom giving me milk baths and following it off with Love’s Baby Soft Body Powder when I spent the night at her house. It was a fun ritual that I enjoyed. Now that I’m older and a lot more conscious about product ingredients, I try to use things as natural as possible but that still give me the luxurious effect that I’m going for.
Why this milk bath works
This recipe is simple with only five ingredients. And it’s on the more natural side of things, you can almost eat all of the ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 part powered whole milk1 part powdered buttermilk
½ cup dead sea salt or epsom salt (optional)
1 cup of dried roses
WHOLE MILK
Whole milk contains
Buttermilk
Rose
A best friend to dry skin, the oil found in roses have a variety of vitamins, antioxidants
Dead Sea Salt
This salt is pretty cool. It contains 10 times the amount of cleansing and detoxifying minerals than found in regular sea salt.
This dry mixture needs to be stored my in a glass jar with a tight lid to keep preserve its freshness. Another awesome part about this soak is that it’s very customizable to your preference. If you are drawn more to the exfoliating goodness of the buttermilk then feel free to use more or only buttermilk with the roses.
To decrease clean up but still get all of the benefits, you can put the combined mixture into a tea bag or drawstring pouch that can be steeped directly into your bath water. I found these Japanese bags at the store and I really like them.
I have a special ingredient I add to really jazz up this recipe. Since it is a rose bath after all, I like to go a step further and add rose water to the tub or basin. This makes it so fragrant, and it smells fantastic! This is the one that I use.
And there you have it friends. I hope you enjoy your pamper time. Feel free to tell me all about it in the comment below!
