The Spa at Sweetgrass, Isle of Palm, South Carolina

This week I was in need of some pampering, so I made an executive decision and took myself to a day spa. I’m in Georgia this week, so I had plenty of spas to choose from.

One thing I love about the south is how close together the states are. You can start off in one state at noon and by 8pm, have crossed over three states! I most definitely took advantage of this and drove to the coast of South Carolina. It’s such a cute area to me. I went to Hilton Head during the 4th of July weekend and enjoyed the small towns on the way to the beach. Speaking of beaches, I am always impressed by how warm the Atlantic’s water is, as the Pacific Ocean water near the San Francisco Bay is alway freezing!

LOCATION

The Spa at Sweetgrass is located in the Sweetgrass Inn. This is a Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palm in South Carolina. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Charleston, SC. Wild Dunes is a gated resort community, so on the way to the resort, you will pass plenty of nice beach properties.

CLIENTELE

The resort sits on the coast and is a destination location for the state. They attract plenty of tourists looking for a nice time in South Carolina.

DECOR / THEME

There is a nautical theme throughout the lobby and guest areas of the hotel. The spa is consistent with carrying out the nautical theme but the decor inside of the spa is very “zen”. With sea-foam green lockers, soft cream walls, and furniture pieces that are both neutral and colorful, you cannot help but feel relaxed while lounging in the common areas.

SERVICE

The staff at the spa were not short of fabulous customer service and southern hospitality. From the moment I walked in, I felt very welcomed. From my greeter Emily, to my masseuse Jill and ending with the wonderful young lady as I checked out, everyone was wonderful. The customer service was very much what I would expect at a destination resort.

TREATMENTS

The spa offers a variety of wellness services. From their massages, you can choose from CBD, Salt Stone, Prenatal, Deep Tissue, Sports, Reflexology and Swedish. They offer facials for everyone, including a special facial for men and teens. On the menu, they also offer journey packages.

I chose The Shine Journey. It features an immune boosting body scrub, an immune boosting massage, and additional attention for the scalp, hands and feet.

THE OVERALL

I really enjoyed my time at The Spa at Sweetgrass. The spa is fairly new, as it opened in March of this year. I think they nailed it. I want to also give them accolades for carrying local artist and vendor items in their shop.
